Job Description

St. Joseph Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department day shift. This full-time position involves patient triage, assessment, and emergency care delivery in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

What You'll Do
  • Triage, assess, and prioritize patients using the ESI Level 5 Triage System
  • Perform primary and secondary assessments on patients with traumatic and cardiac injuries
  • Manage pain control and provide age-appropriate care across all patient populations
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home care, medications, and follow-up resources
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes and safety
Requirements
  • Texas State Board of Nursing licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
  • Minimum 1 year ED experience, ESI course completion, and documented triage competency
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to patient care
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Emergency Room experience
  • Baccalaureate degree or progression toward this degree
  • National Certification from American Nurses Credentialing Center
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities
