Job Description
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) safely administers medications to patients under licensed nursing supervision. This role ensures accurate, timely medication delivery while monitoring for adverse reactions and maintaining detailed records.
What You'll Do
- Administer prescribed medications following established protocols under nurse supervision
- Monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions and report promptly to nursing staff
- Maintain accurate medication administration records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Assist with patient care activities including basic health monitoring and condition reporting
- Ensure medication storage areas are organized, secure, and regulatory compliant
Requirements
- Current Certified Medication Aide certification recognized by state regulatory body
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of medication administration principles and healthcare safety standards
- Ability to pass background checks and meet health screening requirements
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare team members
